LOCAL BREAKING NEWS: Clatsop County announces 2nd confirmed COVID-19 case
Wednesday morning, Clatsop County announced the county’s second confirmed COVID-19 case. Joanne Rideout reports.
Clatsop County Health Department Director Mike McNickle released the info in a phone call with media.
Mike McNickle: “This morning we were notified by OHA, Oregon Health Authority, that we have a second case of COVID-19. This time it’s a male, between the ages of 35-55. He is not hospitalized, he is convalescing at home. And he is not a contact of the first case.
McNickle said the second case is a south county resident. All known contacts of this person are being contacted by the health department.
The initial confirmed case, announced Monday, is a north county area woman in the same age range. She is also convalescing at home and according to health department reports, improving. All her contacts are in self quarantine. The county will make the same arrangements with all contacts of the second case.
No information has been released regarding employment or residence for either patient.
